TO FINISH OR BLANK OFF A HOLE:

As one of their most common uses, plugs can be great for finishing or blanking off an unnecessary hole. They provide a neat option for preventing ingress and access. Many of the styles offered within our range are geared towards these uses, especially 'blanking' style plugs. These are designed specifically for such installations.

TO PROTECT A THREAD OR INTERNAL AREA:

As well as their finishing uses, each of these plugs can be used to protect the internal area of a hole. Internal holes are often protected during the manufacturing or production processes. This can be to prevent damage to threads, or to prevent the ingress of hazardous materials or substances.

FOR MASKING USES DURING COATING OR PAINTING:

Another extremely common use for our plugs, especially the rubber type, is for high temperature masking uses. This is to offer internal protection for threaded holes, bore holes, etc. Some of the Rubber Plugs we offer are manufactured from Silicone. This offers temperature resistance of up to 315 degrees Celsius, hence their popularity for such uses.

TO SEAL OFF AN AREA:

A particularly frequent use of rubber type plugs is their use to provide an air tight seal. An air tight seal is often a requirement when dealing with applications that are in contact with liquids or gases. EPDM is the perfect match for these uses thanks to their excellent resistance against weathering, oils, acids, and chemicals.

Most of the solutions offered can be fitted without the need for fasteners or fixings. They hold themselves in position thanks to the nature of materials, or alternatively with in-built fixing clips.

As one of the largest selections that we offer through our website, there is a truly huge number of styles and sizes available. Each one has its own recommended uses and installations. This leaves you with many different options to choose from depending on your specific needs.

HOW TO MEASURE PLUGS & STOPPERS:

Measuring your hole for a proper fitting is essential to provide a hassle free experience. However, it is important to note that the ways of measuring differ depending on the application. For example, when fitting into a panel, you must take panel thickness into consideration. With standard holes, thickness isn't really an issue..

FOR PANELS

When measuring a plug for installation into a panel, it is important to note both the diameter required as well as the thickness of the panel that you're putting them into. As detailed in the diagram below, this is a fairly simple process. It requires using the measurements found to match up with solutions available on our site.

FOR STANDARD HOLES

Measuring up for standard holes is a quick and easy process in comparison to panel holes. The only consideration is the diameter and length required to fill the hole. Diameter is measured in the same way as pictured, making a note of your ideal length to match up with solutions available within our ranges.

These products are split into two main types based on their material properties: Plastic & Rubber. It is important to have a good understanding of your needs and requirements before making a choice between them.

As a general rule, plastic is used to provide a clean or long term finish. Rubber is often used to seal off, or prevent access to, a particular area. Each solution can be used with a combination of panel holes, threaded holes and standard holes, where seen to meet the requirements of a project.

Rubber

Rubber Plugs are often used to seal, protect, and mask off areas during painting or powder coating processes. In most cases, they offer high temperature resistance and an easy push fitting. This is along with excellent shock absorption properties.
