Small Bolts

Vital Parts supplies a specialist range of precision fasteners designed for use in miniature and delicate assemblies. This collection includes some of the smallest metric thread sizes available in the UK, starting with the M1 bolt, making it ideal for fine mechanical components, electronics and detailed engineering applications where accuracy and scale are critical.

These small bolts are stocked in high quality grades of A2 and A4 stainless steel as standard. They are generally difficult to source due to their small size and the complexity of their manufacture. Despite this, we maintain a strong supply chain with consistent availability of M1 bolts, M2 bolts, M3 bolts and M4 bolts, supporting both small projects and large scale UK manufacturing requirements.

What are small bolts used for?

Small bolts of this size are commonly used in electronics and compact devices where space is limited and precision is essential. Typical applications include watches, laptops, cameras and other fine mechanical assemblies. As products continue to become smaller and more advanced, demand for reliable miniature fasteners continues to increase.

What size small bolts do you sell?

The smallest bolt we supply is an M1 bolt. We also stock M2 bolts, M3 bolts and M4 bolts. If you require an M5 bolt, you can view our M5 bolt range here.

These fasteners are supplied in stainless steel as standard, with alternative materials such as steel, brass, aluminium, titanium and nylon plastic available on request. Please contact us if you require a material option not currently listed online.

How do you measure a bolt?

Measure the diameter across the threaded section to determine the bolt size, then measure the length from under the head to the end of the thread. Finally, identify the thread pitch which is the distance between threads. These three measurements ensure correct bolt selection.

Are small bolts the same as machine screws?

Small bolts and machine screws are often used interchangeably to describe miniature threaded fasteners. They may also be referred to by size, such as M2 bolts or M3 bolts, or by material, including small stainless steel screws or brass bolts.
