WRAS Washers are Washers that comply with the standards set by the Water Regulations Advisory Scheme (WRAS) for use in plumbing and water systems. These Washers are designed to prevent contamination of the water supply and are tested and approved by the WRAS to meet strict criteria, including resistance to chemicals and bacteria.
WRAS washers are commonly used in taps, valves, and other plumbing fixtures that come into contact with drinking water. Which WRAS washer should you choose?
The main difference between Fibre and EPDM WRAS Washers lies in their material properties and ideal applications. Fibre WRAS Washers are made from vulcanised fibre, offering excellent rigidity, mechanical strength and resistance to wear, making them ideal for high-pressure or static sealing applications such as taps, valves and pipe joints.
In contrast, EPDM WRAS Washers are made from flexible synthetic rubber that provides superior elasticity, weather resistance and sealing performance against water and steam, making them better suited for dynamic or outdoor environments. When choosing between them, select fibre washers for firm, stable seals under compression and EPDM washers when flexibility, vibration absorption, or long-term water exposure is required.

Do you sell plumbing washers?
Yes, we sell a range of WRAS approved washers that are suitable for plumbing applications. These are available in a choice of EPDM or Fibre materials, constructed to the DIN 125A standard. They have been designed to adhere to UK water safety regulations and are safe to use on plumbing fixtures that come into contact with drinking water and clean water sources. As standard, we stock these in M3 to M16 sizing and offer some great discounts on bulk purchases. We can also cater to any bespoke sizing requests, just reach out to the team.
How fast can I get my order?
Need your parts tomorrow? Our rapid same day dispatch has got you covered! Simply place your order before 4pm Mon-Thurs or 2pm Friday and select our Next Day Delivery service in the shopping cart. We also offer Guaranteed AM delivery when required, in addition to a Saturday delivery option.
If you don't mind waiting, we have a Free delivery method for orders over £30, and an economic £4.85 2nd Class delivery for orders between £20-£30.
