How do I maintain my door bolt?

To ensure your bolt locks for door use remain in good working order, regular maintenance is recommended. Clean the bolt once monthly using a soft cloth or brush and ensure it is dried thoroughly. Lubricate the bolt occasionally with WD40 to maintain smooth sliding operation. Avoid using steel brushes or wire wool, as these may scratch the surface and expose the metal to potential surface rust.
