M10 x 85mm Captive Socket Cap Head Screw | Similar to DIN 912 | A4 Stainless Steel

Made for repeat-access assemblies, this M10 x 85mm socket head captive screw uses a reduced 8.0mm section between the threaded portion and head area. When paired with a compatible captive feature, this allows the fixing to remain with the panel after disengaging from the mating thread. A4 Stainless Steel provides enhanced corrosion resistance for suitable outdoor, washdown, coastal and marine applications where a higher level of environmental resistance is required.

What Are Captive Socket Cap Head Screws?

Cap Head Captive Screws combine a DIN 912-style socket cap head with a reduced section intended for captive retention. They are useful on equipment that requires repeated access because the screw can remain with the removable part during servicing which reduces the chance of loose fixings being dropped or misplaced.

Common Applications

  • Jigs and Fixtures: Keeps adjustment or access fasteners associated with suitable workshop fixtures and production tooling.
  • Laboratory Equipment: Supports retained panel fixing on instruments and serviceable technical equipment.
  • Fabricated Housings: Provides a captive fastening format for custom covers, guards and equipment enclosures.
  • General Engineering: Useful where a screw needs to remain attached to the assembly after disengaging from its mating thread.
