Product Description
Washers are simple mechanical components, added to assemblies to distribute load across the head of the fastener. This distributes the stress over a larger area preventing damage to the fastener and mating surface.
They are commonly produced to a standard to allow compatibility across a range of manufacturers, the most common standards are DIN125 and BS4320, in which the outside diameter of the washer is twice that of the inside diameter.
When would Copper Washers be used?
Copper is best used in sealing applications, as it’s soft and corrosion resistant it’s perfect, when crushed, to conform to the fixing and mating surface.
Common applications would be for high pressure seals, such as pumps and hydraulics.
