The 5-lobed design is intentionally uncommon, making it difficult to engage with standard tools found in most toolkits. Unlike hex or Torx drives, which are often available online or are part of toolkits, the 5-Lobe drive adds an extra layer of protection against tampering and unauthorised removal.
What are the benefits of A4 stainless steel?
A4 stainless steel contains molybdenum, which significantly improves its resistance to corrosion especially in salty, humid, or industrial environments. The presense of molybdenum prevents pitting of the steel, pits in the material enhancing the material’s resistance to chloride attack. It does this by stabilizing the passive oxide layer on the steel surface, making it more robust and less likely to break down in aggressive environments like seawater or acidic solutions. It’s a step up from A2 stainless steel, which is more commonly used but less resilient under tough conditions.
