Nylon Spacers

Our Nylon Spacers are manufactured from high quality Nylon and are a great cost effective solution when compared to their metal counterparts, being lighter weight and rust proof. A Nylon Spacer is commonly used to provide accurate stand-off distance between two parts, helping to maintain alignment, reduce surface contact and prevent unwanted compression during fastening. Due to the inherent properties of nylon, these spacers also offer good vibration damping and noise reduction, making them especially useful in machinery, electronics, moving assemblies, display installations and signage.

Compared to metal spacers/alternatives, Nylon Spacers are rust proof, lower in weight and typically more economical, making them an excellent choice for both industrial and commercial applications. They are frequently paired with Rubber Washers where additional shock absorption, sealing, or insulation is required.

We stock Nylon Spacers in a wide selection of sizes and formats, with internal diameters ranging from 2.2mm to 25.5mm, and lengths from 4mm to 35mm, ensuring a suitable solution for many different fixing, spacing, and mounting requirements. To view all available sizes and variants, please refer to the product table below.

These Nylon Spacers are often used in conjunction with Rubber Washers to provide further benefits such as shock absorption, insulation and sealing. For other spacing solutions, we also offer a range of Threaded Hex Standoffs.

What is a Nylon Spacer used for?

A Nylon Spacer is used to create a controlled gap between two components. This spacing can be essential for assembly accuracy, airflow, insulation, vibration reduction, or to prevent damage caused by over-tightening. They are commonly installed between panels, housings, brackets, fasteners, and moving parts where a consistent stand-off distance is needed.

Why choose a Nylon Spacer over a metal spacer?

Choosing a Nylon Spacer over a metal alternative can provide several advantages depending on the application. Nylon is significantly lighter, will not rust, and offers good resistance to many oils, greases, and general environmental exposure. It also provides electrical insulation and helps dampen vibration, which can be beneficial in electrical, mechanical and display-based assemblies.
