Stainless Steel Butterfly Latch with Catch Plate

Our Stainless Steel Butterfly Latches with Catch Plates are versatile and can be used for a wide range of applications such as Flight and Road Cases, Storage Boxes and to secure enclosures. Our Butterfly Latches are made from A2 grade Stainless Steel; a highly durable and resistant metal which can withstand exposure to indoor and outdoor environments. A2 Stainless Steel, which is also known as 304 Stainless Steel, has a temperature range of between -196 to 300°C.

We stock our Butterfly Latches in two different styles:

  • Lockable - this Butterfly Latch style features a padlock loop which allows the user to lock the latch with the use of a padlock (not supplied)
  • Not lockable - this style does not feature a padlock loop which means that it cannot be locked

How do I install and use a Butterfly Latch with Catch Plate?

  1. Retract the latch by turning the butterfly handle clockwise
  2. Begin by marking the mounting holes of the main unit onto your desired surface (fully retracted)
  3. Secure the mounting plate onto the surface with your screw of choice (we recommend one of our Button Head Security Screws e.g. Pin Hex Socket Button Head Screw or Pin Torx Button Head Screws ISO 7380)
  4. Mark out the mounting holes of your Catch Plate which will need to be situated directly opposite the latch of the main unit (the latch should be hooked onto the Catch Plate whilst it is fully retracted)
  5. Secure the Catch Plate to the surface once again with Screws of your choice
  6. Finally, test out your Butterfly Latch and Catch Plate by turning the butterfly handle anti-clockwise to provide the latch with slack
