Constant Tension Hose Clamps

Constant Tension Clamps are a specialised type of worm drive hose clamp that use a screw mechanism to tighten or loosen a band around a hose. Unlike standard worm drive clamps these are engineered to maintain consistent clamping force over time which helps prevent cooling leakage caused by thermal expansion and contraction. This makes the Constant Tension Hose Clamps particularly suitable for systems exposed to fluctuating temperatures where standard clamps may loosen as materials expand and contract.

The worm drive mechanism allows Constant Tension Clamps to be adjusted accurately to the required pressure ensuring a secure and reliable fit across a wide range of hose materials and wall thicknesses. Once installed the clamp continues to apply uniform pressure helping to maintain a tight seal even in demanding operating conditions.

Constant Tension Clamps feature a smooth inner band which reduces the risk of hose damage during installation and use. This smooth surface helps prevent cutting abrasion or deformation of the hose making them suitable for rubber silicone and reinforced hose types. The design also improves long term reliability in harsh environments where vibration pressure changes and temperature cycling are common.

These clamps use stacked conical or belleville washers which compress when tightened. This washer system allows the clamp to automatically compensate for vibration material settling and thermal movement. As the hose expands or contracts the washers adjust to maintain consistent tension helping to prevent leaks loosening and loss of sealing force.

Our Constant Tension Hose Clamps are available in 14mm and 16mm band widths and are manufactured from durable 300 and 401 stainless steel grades. These materials offer strong corrosion resistance making the clamps suitable for automotive industrial marine and commercial applications. We stock Constant Tension Clamps to suit hose diameters ranging from 14mm up to 232mm providing coverage for a wide range of system sizes.
