Conical Spring Washers DIN 6796

Conical Spring Washers DIN 6796, also widely known as Belleville Washers, are spring-loaded washers designed to maintain tension within bolted joints and assemblies. Their distinctive conical shape allows them to flex under load, creating an axial spring force that helps compensate for movement, settlement and changes in joint conditions.

Manufactured to DIN 6796, these washers are commonly used with high-strength bolted connections where maintaining preload is important. When compressed beneath a bolt head or nut, the washer provides a controlled spring action that can help reduce the risk of loosening caused by vibration, thermal expansion, relaxation or repeated loading.

Our DIN 6796 Conical Spring Washers are available in a range of metric sizes and stainless steel grades, making them suitable for use across general engineering, machinery, automotive, fabrication, construction and equipment assembly applications. Stainless steel options also provide excellent corrosion resistance for use in demanding indoor and outdoor environments.

What are Conical Spring Washers?

Conical Spring Washers are disc-shaped spring components formed with a shallow cone profile. As the washer is tightened and compressed, it flattens slightly and generates a spring force against the fastening assembly. This allows the washer to absorb small amounts of movement while helping to maintain clamping pressure.

They may also be referred to as Belleville Spring Washers, Disc Spring Washers, Coned Disc Springs or Conical Disc Washers.
