Complete Guide to Grommets
What are Grommets?
Grommets are components which are predominantly used in applications where cables and wires are present; providing them with protection from damage. Grommets are commonly used within Electrical, Automotive, Manufacturing, HVAC, Aerospace and Construction industries as they are highly resistant and durable.
Grommets are available in various styles, sizes and materials which each boast a range of features; some of which are particularly useful within specialist applications.

We currently stock a range of Grommets which each boast a range of features; ensuring that a wide range of applications are provided with the protection that they need. We also stock Grommet Strips in varying channel types for projects which require exposed panel edge protection.
Open Grommets

Conical Sealing Grommets IP67
- Ideal for use with sheet metal panels

Low Profile Sealing Grommets IP67
- Ideal for use in limited space applications
- Wire rating of up to IP67
- Made from TPE with a temperature range of between -50°C to +125°C

Strain Relief Sealing Grommets IP67
- Feature a mechanical cable grip
- Wire rating of up to IP67
- Made from Flexible TPE with a temperature range of between -40°C to +65°C

Liquid Tight Break Through Plugs
- Manufactured from Nylon and TPE to an IP67/68 standard
- Temperature resistance of between -40°C to 100°C
- Provided with locking fingers to provide incremental panel thickness
Grommet Strip
Our Grommet Strips are made from highly durable materials such as Nylon, Polyethylene and TPE. Grommet Strip has the same purpose of preventing liquids from entering an opening as is with our alternative styles of Grommets, however it requires less accuracy upon installation. This is because Grommet Strip can be cut down by the user to suit their project; making them for suitable for use within applications where the hole diameters are rough or unspecified.

Cable Glands
Similarly to Rubber Grommets, our range of Cable Glands protect wires and cables by sealing off the area around them. They ensure wire and cable longevity by preventing strain and fraying. As well as this, they provide the application with an airtight seal which prevents liquids, moisture, dust and debris from entering the fixing.
Cable Glands may be used as an alternative to Rubber Grommets if the application requires a heavy duty solution such as industrial machinery where strain relief is the primary requirement.
