If you are dealing with damaged fittings it helps to understand how to remove broken cam locks without harming the panel. In most cases the first step is to back out the cam screws if possible then rotate the cam locks to the open position and lift the joint apart. If a cam lock is broken inside the recess you can often use a flat blade driver to turn the remaining section or gently pull it free with pliers before fitting fresh cam locks and replacement cam screws to restore a secure connection.
