M6 x 22mm Captive Socket Cap Head Screw | Similar to DIN 912 | A4 Stainless Steel

This M6 x 22mm cap head captive screw is designed for manufacturing equipment, jigs and maintenance panels where the fixing needs to remain attached after it has been loosened. The 12.0mm threaded length provides the fastening section while the reduced 4.5mm captive diameter is intended to work with a compatible panel, washer, sleeve or retaining feature. A4 Stainless Steel provides enhanced corrosion resistance for suitable outdoor, washdown, coastal and marine applications where a higher level of environmental resistance is required.

What Are Captive Socket Cap Head Screws?

Captive Cap Screws are used where a conventional fully removable screw could create a loose-part risk during maintenance. Their reduced captive diameter allows a suitable retention feature to hold the screw to the panel while the threaded end engages and disengages from the mating component.

Common Applications

  • Jigs and Fixtures: Keeps adjustment or access fasteners associated with suitable workshop fixtures and production tooling.
  • Laboratory Equipment: Supports retained panel fixing on instruments and serviceable technical equipment.
  • Fabricated Housings: Provides a captive fastening format for custom covers, guards and equipment enclosures.
  • General Engineering: Useful where a screw needs to remain attached to the assembly after disengaging from its mating thread.
