Cap Screws also known as both Cap Head Screws and Cap Socket Screws are a cylindrical style head which is designed to allow a higher torque. Frequently manufactured with a hex socket recess driver (allen key recess) to help give more torque for when fitting. We offer a range of different cap head styles with unique attirbutes to suit different engineering needs in a range of Stainless Steel in either A2 or A4.
Due to their aesthetically pleasing finish cap head screws are often used within the electronics, furniture and automtive industries with even F1 cars using a variation of the standard cap screw. Due to torque that can be achieved with the allen key (hex recess) these type of screws can be tightened further than standard screws which helps alleviate issues caused by vibrations. You can also pair the screw with a thread locking nut, or compound which you can apply onto the thread to create an extremely robust and vibration resistant fitting hence the Formula 1 use.
