Custom Washers
Vital Parts are able to offer custom-made washers in a range of materials. We are able to turn, stamp or water-jet cut custom washers depending on the requirement.
In order to fulfil your enquiry we will need to know, the Internal Diameter, Outside Diameter, Thickness and Material.
If your custom washer is not round, please inform us of all dimensions or provide us with a drawing.
We also stock a range of Plastic, Rubber, Metal and Fibre Washers in standard sizes available next day:
Common Materials
Nylon
Avaliable in Natural and Black and commonly used as a lighter alternatvie to metal washers
Neoprene
Commonly used to seal in plumbing and insulate in electrical applications
Stainless Steel
Available in A2 or A4 Marine Grade and commonly used for its corrosion resistance
Silicone
Avaliable in a range of colours and perfect for use in high temp or food contract applications
Fibre
Commonly in Teal or Red, these washers are used for electrical insulation or water contact
PEEK
PEEK is ideal for aerospace applications due to its light weight and heat resistance
PTFE
Also known as Teflon, these washers have a low coefficient of friction or non-stick property
FKM
Also known as Viton, these washers are able to withstand extreme chemicals and heat
EPDM
EPDM is commonly used in vehicles for sealing and anti-vibration
Felt
Commonly used for noise reduction as "anti-squeak" pads or to protect surfaces
Aluminium
Used as a weight saving washer, these are ideal for aerospace and automotive applications
Brass
Brass washers have good conductivity and are often chosen for their attractive appearance
Copper
Copper is commonly used for plumbing and has excellent electrical conductivity
Lead
These washers are deployed for their high density and resistance to corrosive substances
Mild Steel
The most common structural washers, these are commonly bright zinc plated.
ABS
Often used in medical devices and toys due to their durability and non-reactive properties
Acetal
Also known as POM, is perfect for use in high-stress and high-friction applications
HDPE
HDPE washers are used for their ability to withstand impact and abrasion
LDPE
Low Density Polyethylene washers are used for their flexibilty and impact resistance
PC
Polycarbonate Washers are chosen for their tranparency and thermal stability
PVC
PVC washers are used for their electrical resistance and resistance to moisture
Nitrile
Commonly used for their excellent resistance to petroleum based products.
Leather
Used in restoration projects of vintage equipment for sealing and anti-vibration
Cork
Cork is used to create airtight and watertight seals in hydraulic equipment and instruments
