Split Pins, also known as Cotter Pins, are manufactured to DIN 94 and stocked in Stainless Steel. Split Pins are used to keep fasteners such as castle nuts in place, and prevent loosening under vibration. Unlike other methods, the split pin is not permanent, and can be removed to allow the nut to be undone.

Installation: After inserting the pin through a nut, the two legs are then bent or 'Split' providing a physical lock preventing the nut from turning and therefore loosening.

Split Pins are available in A2 (304 Equivalent) and A4 (316 Marine Equivalent), in sizes from 1mm x 4mm, to 13mm x 140mm.
