Frequently Asked Questions

Remove masking tape when the paint is touch dry but not fully cured.

This is usually within 30 minutes to a few hours after painting, depending on the paint type. Removing it too late can cause the paint to peel or crack along the edge. Pull the tape back slowly at a 45 degree angle for a clean line.

Masking tape can damage wall paint if the paint is old, not fully cured or poorly bonded to the surface.

It may lift or peel paint when removed, especially if left on too long or if a high-tack tape is used. To reduce the risk, use low-tack painter's tape and remove it slowly while the paint is still slightly soft.

Yes, you can paint powder coated metal, but it must be properly prepared first!

Powder coating is smooth and non porous, so paint will not adhere well without preparation. Lightly sand the surface to create a key, clean it thoroughly to remove dust and grease, and use a suitable primer designed for metal before applying topcoat.

When painting edges or surrounding areas, use masking tape to protect surfaces and create clean lines. Remove the tape while the paint is still slightly tacky to avoid lifting the new coating.
