At 49.4mm wide, the M12 AA4 Stainless Steel Wing Nut is a substantial butterfly nut -also known as a butterfly nut or thumb nut, manufactured to DIN 315 and designed for heavy structural clamps, large access hatches, industrial plant guards and marine applications where a substantial wing nut provides secure hand-tightened clamping force. The two large wings allow the nut to be tightened and loosened by hand without any tools -essential wherever the fastening needs to be adjusted, inspected or removed regularly without stopping to find a spanner.
A4 (316) marine grade stainless steel is the correct specification for offshore, marine, coastal and food processing applications where exposure to saltwater, chlorides or aggressive cleaning chemicals makes standard A2 unsuitable. At 49.4mm wide and 22.3mm tall this wing nut delivers strong hand-tightened clamping force with the corrosion performance to match the demanding environments where it is typically specified. DIN 315 compliant -fits any compatible M12 bolt or threaded rod at 1.75mm pitch.
