The M6 AA2 Stainless Steel Wing Nut -27.8mm wide and one of the most frequently specified butterfly nuts in UK engineering -also known as a butterfly nut or thumb nut, manufactured to DIN 315 and designed for one of the most widely used sizes across UK engineering -general machinery, access panels, clamps and adjustable fixtures from light to medium industrial applications. The two large wings allow the nut to be tightened and loosened by hand without any tools -essential wherever the fastening needs to be adjusted, inspected or removed regularly without stopping to find a spanner.
Made from A2 stainless steel (304 / 18-8) for reliable corrosion resistance across general engineering environments -indoor workshop use, light outdoor exposure and moderate moisture or chemical contact. The wing profile at 27.8mm wide gives good leverage for hand-tightening, and the countersunk bearing face ensures a stable, flush seating against the clamping surface. DIN 315 compliant -fits any compatible metric M6 bolt, threaded rod or machine screw with a 1mm pitch.
