This M2.5 self-locking hex nut is suited to construction hardware and fabricated metal components where a standard hex nut may loosen under vibration. The nylon insert grips the mating thread to provide prevailing torque while the metal nut body carries the clamping load. The A2 stainless steel construction provides good corrosion resistance for general engineering, machinery and suitably exposed fastening applications.
What Are DIN 985 Nyloc Nuts?
Nyloc Nuts are metal hex nuts fitted with a nylon insert that grips the mating thread as the bolt passes through. This added friction creates a prevailing torque which helps the nut resist loosening under vibration, movement and repeated service conditions.
This DIN 985 style sits within our wider nylon lock nuts range. For applications that require a taller nylon insert nut, our high locknuts provide the DIN 982 alternative.
