For electrical enclosures, control equipment and fabricated panels, this M4 DIN 985 locknut provides a reusable self-locking fastening option with a nylon insert positioned above the metal thread. As the mating fastener passes through the insert it creates prevailing friction which helps the nut resist backing off in service. The A2 stainless steel construction provides good corrosion resistance for general engineering, machinery and suitably exposed fastening applications.
What Are DIN 985 Nyloc Nuts?
A Nylock Nut, also commonly written as Nyloc Nut, is a self-locking hex nut that uses a nylon insert to resist rotation after tightening. The insert deforms around the mating thread and creates friction which helps reduce unwanted loosening in service.
