This M3 nylon insert locknut is suited to electrical enclosures, control equipment and fabricated panels where a standard hex nut may loosen under vibration. The nylon insert grips the mating thread to provide prevailing torque while the metal nut body carries the clamping load. The A4 stainless steel construction provides enhanced corrosion resistance for suitable outdoor, coastal and marine fastening applications.
What Are DIN 985 Nyloc Nuts?
DIN 985 Nylon Lock Nuts use a polymer insert above the metal thread to create resistance against the mating bolt. The nut body remains metal while the nylon insert provides the locking action which makes these fasteners useful in vibration-prone mechanical assemblies.
